While the final two teams facing off on Super Bowl Sunday have yet to be determined (our money’s on Green Bay and New England), that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your own indoor tail gate party for the big day.
For some scrumptious nibbles to nosh while watching the ultimate gridiron game we rounded up ideas from Delish, Food Network, Damn Delicious, Epicurious and Real Simple. And if you don’t find something tempting in this list, you’re not a foodie or a sports fan!
It’s hard to go wrong with nachos, especially the Totally Loaded kind from Damn Delicious. Epicurious contends that the key to this appetizer is homemade pinto bean dip dolloped onto each chip. But if you don’t have time for that, this Delish concoction of Freddie Prinze, Jr.’s is more of a dump recipe, and so’s this Superbowl Beer Nachos from Honestly Yum, with chorizo and two kinds the cheese.
If you prefer dips for your tortilla chips here’s a Seven-Layer crowd-pleaser from AllRecipes.com with olives, green onions, cheese and refried beans (plus three other ingredients!) and this super tasty Guacamole dip, a five-star favorite on Food.com.
For something warm to tickle your taste buds, try a Hot Crab Dip with cream cheese and horseradish, or a Layered Buffalo Chicken dip. Not your favorite? How about the ever-popular cheesy Spinach and Artichoke dip from Real Simple? Pass the pita!
It’s hard to imagine a Super Bowl party without chicken wings. Epicurious will help you make crispy baked wings WITH a ginger soy glaze and WITHOUT the constant vigilance of frying. But the motherlode of possibilities the Food Network’s 50 different wings’ recipes for every taste and preference, from Classic Buffalo and Five Alarm, to Moroccan, Vietnamese and umpteen battered, breaded and flavored varieties.
If your mouth STILL isn’t watering, you might check out Pure Wow’s Baked Gorgonzola Bites, Real Simple’s Bacon-Wrapped Potato Bites with Dill Sauce, the Pioneer Woman’s Chicken and Waffles, or there’s always Food Network Guy Fieri’s Pigs in Spicy Blankets.
Whichever team you’re rooting for and wherever you’re spending Super Bowl Sunday, we wish you lots of camaraderie and comfort food (and no calorie counting)!
