Erie Balloon Festival Launching from Colliers Hill!
The Erie Chamber’s largest event of 2021 combines the Town Fair in Downtown Erie with the Hot Air Balloon Festival – now in its 24th year. For the first time ever, the hot air balloons will launch from right here in Colliers Hill! You’ll want to wake up early and grab your lawn chairs and blankets to watch 25-30 balloons take to the morning air!
Watch the Weather, Just in Case
Hot air balloons will launch Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 14, 15 and 16, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., WEATHER PERMITTING, from the Future Community Park site in Colliers Hill – right off County Road 5 (CR5) directly west of Soaring Heights PK-8 and Erie High School.
There will be parking available (follow the signs!) at the launch site. No parking will be allowed along CR5, or at the schools across the street. Residents of Colliers Hill are encouraged to walk to the event if possible, as LOTS of outlying visitors are likely to attend (and may park on surrounding streets).
Food and Giveaways
There will be food trucks at the launch site to greet early morning festival-goers with coffee and donuts for sale. Show up early to interact with the balloon pilots, watch the balloons inflate, and snap forever photo-memories of this special one-of-a-kind event.
The first 250 attendees on Friday and Sunday will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and the first 100 visitors on Friday and 400 on Saturday, will receive a free folding chair with armrests and cup holders! First come-first served!
More than 2000 visitors are expected on Saturday, so set your alarms and plan to arrive EARLY – and bring your portable sports chairs, just in case! Please leave your pets, drones and cigarettes at home.

Please Note: Dogs and smoking will not be allowed at the event and the FAA plans to monitor and ticket anyone flying a drone in the area of the balloons.
