30th Annual Eerie Erie October 29!
This will be the 30th year for the annual Eerie Erie, a Halloween-themed event with both 5K and 10K races that run through historic downtown Erie and beyond! This will be an in-person event – after having been virtual in recent years thanks to the pandemic.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 29 if you’re a runner, walker or jogger! We have 10 complimentary registrations to give away on a first-come, first-served basis.
Otherwise, get your registrations in by October 12 at 11:59 p.m. if you want a race t-shirt:$30 to $35 depending on your age group and the race distance!
WORLD FAMOUS RACE
The world-famous race established a course that takes advantage of the town’s beautiful trail system that weaves along the Coal Creek open space areas and the 10K passes right through Colliers Hill, along Colliers Blvd. Runners will see the expansive panoramic views of the front range that residents get to gaze at day in and day out.
Not coincidentally, the racecourse straightaway scoots past the scenic Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the west side of Colliers Hill. Eerie, right? It’s the optimal habitat for friendly spirits who can’t wait to watch who’s leading the pack from among this year’s runners.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION
You can register on-site for $5 more near the starting line – at the Erie United Methodist Church parking lot from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. and Packet Pickup just a little beyond that till 9:15 a.m. The 5K will start at 9:30. The 10K will start at 9:40. There will not be a kids Fun Run this year, nor will there be a medals ceremony.
The Eerie Erie is the primary fundraiser for the Erie Optimist Club, a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to benefit the children of the Erie community by funding youth-specific events, programs, and activities throughout the year.
