Old Gods of Appalachia is an award-winning and critically-acclaimed audio drama podcast produced by Asheville, NC based DeepNerd Media. OUTDOORS FILM FESTIVAL

A fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force is grounded after an unplanned pregnancy and is assigned to the “chair force” in a bunker outside Las Vegas. ART NIGHT WITH LIVE MUSIC
The City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department, presents Art Night Out summer festival series. This always-free public event on Public Road between Emma and Cannon Streets in Lafayette, Colorado will also feature live music by Hazel Miller and The Collective plus two full city blocks, closed to traffic, with up to 50 art vendors and eight food trucks. BILLY JOEL COORS FIELD
Billy Joel, singer, songwriter and piano man extraordinaire, has been a major force in popular music for more than 20 years. A native Long Islander, born in 1949, Joel first discovered music at the age of four and studied classical piano, but soon learned how to turn a favorite Beethoven sonata into a boogie woogie romp.
Signed by Columbia Records in 1973, Joel recorded Piano Man. Both the album and the single went gold soon after their release, while his third effort, Streetlife Serenade, garnered the first group of many awards to come. Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.
The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT
The UFC is returning to the Mile High City. UFC boss Dana White announced the return of mixed martial arts’ big show to Denver for the first time since 2018. The main card will feature a pair of Colorado fighters in Maycee Barber against Rose Namajunas.
Barber, a Greeley native, is on a six-fight win streak heading into the bout and is ranked No. 4 in the flyweight division. Namajunas, a two-time strawweight champion and Westminster resident, is ranked No. 6. She snapped a two-bout losing streak with a win over Amanda Ribas in March. The fight has big implications for the winner to eventually get a crack at the belt.
The card also features a trio of welterweight bouts in Mike Malott versus Gilbert Urbina, Santiago Ponzinibbio versus Muslim Salikhov and Gabriel Bonfim versus Ange Loosa. Plus, Luana Santos versus Mariya Agapova in women’s flyweight, Abdul Razak Alhassan versus Cody Brundage in middleweight and Julian Erosa versus Christian Rodriguez in featherweight. Denver fighter Drew Dober will also be on the card against Mike Davis in the lightweight division.

SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS
The Squirrel Nut Zippers Jazz from the Back ‘O Town show is an intriguing look at the birth of Jazz, focused on the prodigious musical neighborhood of New Orleans called Back ‘O Town. The Squirrel Nut Zippers present a delightful view into a magical era of the late 19th century through the Roaring 20s in New Orleans’ Back O’ Town neighborhood. AJR: THE MAYBE MAN TOUR
AJR is an American indie pop band founded by brothers Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met, collectively a trio of vocalists, multi-instrumentalists, and songwriters. Niall Horan is the Irish singer and guitarist, first known for being a member of the boy band One Direction. As a teen he often played the guitar and his aunt urged nephew Niall to pursue singing. The judges weren’t overly impressed with his singing skills, so soon after, he collaborated with a few of his fellow contestants to form the group One Direction, which gained a huge following worldwide. LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO
Once upon a time there was a teenage boy working on his family farm in apartheid South Africa. The year was 1960. This boy loved to sing, in fact he loved to sing so much that he allowed himself an impossible dream. In his dream he would create a group of singers, from his family members, to sing traditional South African songs. His group would perform all over South Africa and they would become the greatest music group his country would ever know. How could such a dream come to a young farm boy in a country rife with hardship, violence and trouble? Well, Joseph Shabalala was this young farm boy and his dream would become Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
After leading his group for over fifty years and approaching his seventy-fifth birthday, Joseph Shabalala retired in 2014, handing the leadership to his three sons, Thulani, Sibongiseni and Thamsanqa Shabalala. Having joined their father’s group in 1993, their many years of training had prepared them in ways no others could be trained. Now, carrying their father’s dream into the future, the Shabalala Family continues the group’s success for the world to hear.
