The outside air temps have gone down, thankfully, in the last several days, but rest assured we’ll be back in the 90s before too long! And when that happens and it’s so hot outside that all you want to do is get in the pool at the Overlook, you need the 2021 version of I-Hate-to-Cook-In-the Heat-Recipes…to the rescue!
Not only does new mulch look attractive in your garden and around your bushes and trees, its benefits far outweigh the effort it takes to dump and spread! And there are pros and cons to both the wood and the rubber variety – or as they say in the biz, organic vs. synthetic.
Covering your pergola or trellis with plants is a decorative way to embellish your outdoor living space with greenery, color and even fragrance. With a pergola, the plants will protect you from the harsh rays of the sun – in time – as well as camouflage any nearby neighbor’s view! While it’s hard to choose from among the plants that grow quickly and thrive in Colorado’s climate, here are a few climbing options for our Zone 5 summers and winters.
