If outside air temps have kept you inside most of the winter, you’ll be happy to note that spring weather is just around the corner. Soon those 50-degree days will make us want to pull the covers off the patio furniture and enjoy life on the deck! But it’s still a little chilly, so here are a few tips about using your backyard during winter climes!

But we found taste-test winners – white, chocolate, lemon and red velvet cake mixes, mind you – that with a little effort in the icing department, are sure-fire hits. Brett Stagg moved with his wife Sari and two daughters to Colliers Hill from Utah not quite two years ago. “We came out to Erie and looked at where we thought we wanted to live and were drawn to the community,” Brett says. “I’m not sure exactly what it was, but after we found a church, something about Colliers Hill just felt like that’s where we wanted to be.”
With our options somewhat limited for outdoor activities, one fun thing to do is picnic with family in open space, a local park — even in your own backyard! State parks remain open in Weld County, for all outdoor recreation, and public areas continue to be cleaned regularly. So that means you can make a day of it, and enjoy the season’s mild weather, fresh air and vitamin-D producing sunshine!
